For me recovery means the ability to live a full, valued meaningful life

I began binge drinking at 13, smoking dope at 14, amphetamines at 17, heroin 19, I was a poly addicted person for 20 years. I got very sick and isolated from life, I was unable to work, unable to maintain relationships and knew nothing of how to change my ways.

In an act of desperation I went to AA and found my way to NA, then detox then rehab. Attending meetings, following the 12 steps, counselling, primary care, ACT therapy, all helped me re-educating myself. For me recovery means the ability to live a full, valued meaningful life.

Now I see my life is a blessing.
